Holden's Simple and Sweet Woodland Animal Nursery
Holden’s room is by far my favorite place in the house. Good thing, too, because Lord knows I spend countless hours rocking my sweet, sleepless boy here!
When I picked Holden’s nursery theme, I wanted it to be something peaceful; a place where stress and worry could melt away and I could just focus on the sweet, soft moments shared here with my boy. I came across this incredible artwork by Elfin Lilac, and knew that Woodland Animals would be his nursery theme. Her original fine art prints melted my heart. So much care is put into bringing each darling creature to life in her work. I can’t even tell you have many hours I’ve spent just noticing the perfect, beautiful details in these pieces. Antonina creates more than just woodland animals, too. I encourage you to check out her shop here and see some of her other, equally inspiring work.
Holden’s room was actually the first room we painted this beautiful light grey. It’s called Silver Drop, by Behr. We loved it so much, we painted the whole house this color! It’s light and bright, but really marries warm and cool tones well.
This gorgeous mobile with a sweet sleeping fox was hand-made by Holden’s auntie Jazzy. I love how she incorporated the theme of woodland animals while keeping with the light, sweet, soft feel that I really wanted for the room. She poured her heart into creating this gift and I cherish it so very much.
This handmade leather wall hanging was created by our dear friend Tamra at Studio Lovelace. I love the eclectic touch it adds to the space and the way it makes us think of our friends every time I see it! Holden really enjoys the placement right here above the changing table. He plays with the little leather strands while I change him and it distracts him from his efforts to wiggle away from me.
I saw this saying somewhere one day not long after Holden was born and it really spoke to my heart. Holden is a miracle in so many ways, and is in every way more than we could have hoped for. My friend Kassie created this sign for his room, and I actually cried when I saw it finished and sitting there on his shelf because it rings so, so true.
“Sweet Boy… you’re more than we ever expected, and better than we ever imagined.”
I adore this space and treasure every special little piece that has made it complete. More links to specifics below!
